Parties are becoming more en vogue, with the struggling economy and more people staying home and trying to spend less money. A party budget can vary greatly, and many people think, that when it comes to parties, bigger is better. This is honestly not the case at all. There are however some things that a good party does need, and they don't have to cost you a fortune.

1. A THEME: Okay, now I know that many times you will hear that you don't need a theme. I think that if you want to throw a good party on a budget than a theme is an absolute essential. This can allow you to research some cheap party throwing and decorating ideas online. Believe me you will be surprised at how many cute, really cheap, party ideas there are right now on the web. Whether you are throwing a kids birthday party or a murder mystery party, you will be surprised at the things you can do for just a few dollars.

2. FOOD: Food can be a big expense when throwing a party. Everyone wants to have good food, so you don't just want to buy cheaply. So once you have come up with your theme write it down and have everyone bring something to the party. Whether it is drinks and ice or something for dessert, everyone pitching in will keep the costs way down. Also, if you are someone who doesn't like to ask for help, then consider throwing a recipe party, this is where everyone brings something for everyone to try and also brings copies of the recipe to share with others. In the end, everyone leaves full, having had a good time, and with a whole bunch of new recipes to go home and create.

3. DECORATIONS: Whatever your theme, you can elaborately decorate for a lot less than you would think. Online research can help you generate ideas and begin thinking outside the box, but honestly I would say second hand stores, yard sales and Salvation Army, can help you pick up some really cheap decorating supplies.

4. ENTERTAINMENT: Come up with games that are theme appropriate and find a way to do them cheaply, whether you are borrowing ideas online or from a friend, there are many great ways to entertain and include some music from your stereo, computer, TV, or iPod and everyone will have a great time. You can have everyone do the limbo, play spin the bottle, or have a water balloon or egg toss. No matter what the party theme, entertainment doesn't have to cost you a fortune.

If your business has been feeling the weight from the current economic state, then murder mystery parties are a great way to boost business moral. For more information on a murder mystery corporate events los angeles log onto www.sharpo.com.
