Madeleine is still bring the hits, after four consecutive solo albums, with her latest release "Bare Bones". From her small time beginnings on the streets of Paris, she has worked her way to the top of the industry and her fans can wait to her what she brings forth next.
In addition to an amazing vocal performance, which quite frankly she is known for, she also had a hand in writing all 11 of these new tracks. She even wrote the track I Must Be Saved, completely on her own. Her voice is enthralling and sultry as with each breath she drags you further into her own world. The tracks on this CD vary as much as anyone's life experiences do, ranging from the more upbeat sounds of tracks such as Instead and To Love You All Over Again, two of my favorite tracks to the more melancholy sounds of River of Tears and Homeless Happiness, there is something to express both ends of the spectrum and everything in between.
All in all, at 34, Madeleine Peyroux is fairly new to the music industry and has already made her mark with her unique style and twist to the Jazz genre. She is an incredible artist who has much to say and does so in an entrancing way.
Peyroux, having spent time in a domestic violence shelter herself as a child, is currently donating a dollar from every concert ticket that she sells to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, finding a way to not only bless others with her gift, but to give back to the community as well. By far this is her best and most personal album yet, with an easy listening quality and the underlying message of her own unique interpretation of life.
