If you thought Torchwood one and two were loads of good viewing then this new release will be pleasing to your eyes. To label Torchwood Series 3 DVD as better is possibly an understatement. It is considerably different in quite a few ways. These touches make it more viewable and more likable to many fans.

First there are only 5 episodes instead of 12 as in the other series. This is due to the way the BBC ran it, on every night for a week instead of one day a week for a few months. This mega series event format really worked for this particular show plus in other incarnations of Torchwood, there was a mix of politics, sci-fi, thriller and suspense. It was good and suspenseful, but with a twist of humor that put it on the lighter less intense side.

Torchwood Children of Earth on DVD is much more psychologically twisted with dark and emotional moments that make it the perfect adult show. Torchwood really takes on a life of its own in this nightmare on film, which is much more deep and sadistic than any Torchwood before this and it must be said that this is by far the best one yet. It is intense to watch the Torchwood crew as they go through these 5 days of life. Kind of along the lines of 24 as each episode is really supposed to represent one days time.

Torchwood Series 3 on DVD is by far the best in the Torchwood series and if you are a true fan and not just someone who carried over from Dr. Who, then you should love it. This is the breakthrough for this series where it is really taking on its own tone, personality and life, so to speak.

This is fully on the top of the list as far as Sci-Fi went in 2009. Torchwood 1 and 2 are left in the dust by this shadowed probing series. Because of the gripping nature of number 3 you really are anxious to see what goes on next, what will take place in the fourth.
