This movie Angels and Demons is actually based upon the Dan Brown novel of the same name and it is meant to be the second part of the DaVinci Code. This film which is directed by Ron Howard and stars Tom Hanks is an excellent film, as you would expect.
Tom Hanks is Robert Langdon again. It is funny how a religious expert manages to have so much excitement in his life. That's good writing for you. I would imagine most guys in that particular field would have to have the dust occasionally brushed off of them. And he also has the help of the brilliant and beautiful Vittoria Vetra. Together they try their darnedest to save the Vatican and a bunch of people from destruction.
If you were a fan of the book like me you were probably annoyed by them cutting out parts of the book when they made it. We know it's necessary, they can't put everything in there for times sake. It is still a bit of a drag, but that is what you have to accept if you want to see an awesome book turn into an incredible movie. And it was really good. It did the book justice and even stayed very close to the whole line of the tale. It also gave you some needed closure from the first movie.
I loved Tom Hanks in this film. He looked good and was so great in the character. I get tired of always seeing those actors that look perpetually 20 something. The whole cast was totally believable. All those Catholic big wigs really seemed for real. You have to love Ewan McGregor. He looked good and he was so nice to watch in this role. I would give Angels and Demons two thumbs up.
