An interesting and fun way to bring some new life into your new neighborhood is getting a new tradition started. My neighborhood and my city is a melting pot of many different cultures. We could put on several separate culture based events with all the different kinds of people or just one that has something for several at once. This is just one idea of the way you can bring some new life and energy into your area. If you are one of the many people that have recently put down roots with their families in charming older neighborhoods that need some new energy, this is a good idea for you.
Once you have the idea in your head you need to go through the proper channels. you don't want to have things rolling to far along before you check what kind of permits you might need or other things that you have no clue about. If this is something that you will want to become a regular thing then you need to take your time and do things properly. Every city has it's own rules that they go by. If your place of choice is a city park then you need to know the rules about that too.
The next step in getting your event underway is more organizing. If this will be the first of many events, you need to have a website created. This can be done with an inexpensive web host or you can hire a graphics designer. You may have one in the neighborhood so check into free help whenever you can. It is for a good cause after all. You want corporate sponsors to donate funds and goods and a decent website will help to sell them on your plan. You will need to look into ordering some custom promotional merchandise as well. These are good to sell because they will help to remind people about what a fun time they had and that there will be another one coming up. You can also put you sponsors name somewhere on the items. If you use a t-shirt you can put your festival info on front and the sponsors on the back.
This event that you are planning will be so much fun. It will make your group of houses become a community. It will bring money into the area for businesses and for individuals. You will have your own budget to do things with so that even if the city says there is no money for what you want, you can still do it. You will make your area that you live in look better. The extra money can be used to help senior citizens to do repairs and get their houses painted and their over grown brush cleaned out. All done by you and your neighbors.
Promotional key chains are a decent little gift to give to attendees that come to your festival. Seeing your logo and the sponsors logo on those and some promotional caps will help attendees remember the experience.
