If you feel that it would be in your best interest to move your website to another host, that is not impossible to do. You need for your site to be up and going and it helps if your web host is willing to release you. There are a few different steps that you can take to make this go smoothly.

You web host will offer assistance about downloading your files to move them. They will give you an idea of which method will be the easiest. You can use FTP or SFTP to take care of this. If you have forgotten what your user-name and your password is for your account ask your web host to give you this info again because you do need it. Some people use web designers. You want to check and make sure that it is you that is the site owner, not the designer.

When you transfer your info from one site to another you have to store it first from the original site. You probably have a site that is database driven and then you will need to download the info. This can be totally confusing. If you don't know about using mysqldump or php then ask for help. You have to successfully get all of your info so that you can move it.

After you have finished all that you will want to let your new web host know that you are ready to switch. You need to be finished with moving all of the data out of the site before you tell them because you can lose data when they go to access the site. that is what they do when they do the domain name switch.

When they have your domain name transferred you are free to get your site all set up with your data to be uploaded. There is nothing left to do besides telling the former web host service that you will no longer be needing their services.

Whatever business you have, great php hosting is serious. Your business will have a much larger chance to prosper with reliable php hosting as opposed to a cheap one.
