Search engine optimization is on the front lines of building online success. With all the websites competing with each other try making the first page of Google or other major search engines. It's almost impossible to perfect SEO. Web-masters will tell you that unless you constantly change strategies you will never keep up. Good old quality content, of coarse centered around the right combination of keywords is usually what it used to take.

But one thing to consider when building your website is how the major search engines operate. You may have heard of the term "spider." This is a program used by the search engines. These "spiders" crawl through various websites looking for new content and links to new websites. That is why having links that these "spiders" can crawl to your website from is so important.

A few ways to create these links is by submitting your website to the major directories. For example the Yahoo directory can boost your ranking most effectively. Although Yahoo charges a fee you are not guaranteed placement in the directory. If you decide to submit to a directory you must carefully read about the kinds of websites they will NOT except. Find a directory that will charge smaller fees or will allow you to post your website for free. Some will allow exchange for a reciprocal link. Submitting to a link farm will hurt your ranking with the engines. So make sure that it is an actually directory.

Posting articles or blogs that are compatible with the subject of your website and integrating a link to your website within it's content is a sure fire way to get quality one-way backlinks. Don't break the rules of the article or blog site. You may only be able to post one link per article or blog and if considered commercial, you may not be able to post links to anything.

Try forum websites if you want to post your website URL in your signature and make sure it's related to your topic. Try responding to a few posts to get free back links to your website. It is important that your links are strategically connected to people that have relevancy to your website and you will be off to a great start.

You can quickly use text link ads for your web based business. It is no problem to find and buy back links to help your business succeed.
