Basically if you need to sell to people you will need to build a relationship with them. You can get this started by giving away small promotional gifts when you visit the places that you are trying to become acquainted with.

The place that you want to get business from and the things that you are trying to sell will determine the type of product that you will give away. If you are trying to sell some sort of computer service then you would want to give people mouse pads or a flash drive. These items go with your business and will help them to remember you when they are on the computer.

As long as the items that you leave for people are useful they will be kept. If they are kept then they will work as advertising for your business. Another thing to keep in mind is when you are choosing products to use in this way you should consider whether or not they will be seen in public. If you pick items that will get seen out in public they will act like a walking advertisement for your business. Any item that helps people think of your product or service is a good gift. If you want to make someone sign up for your pool cleaning service you would not give the a key chain. It would make more sense to give them something that would be kept near the pool. For instance you could give people some very colorful blow up pool toys with your logo on them.

You can be creative with the items that you give to people and with the customization as well. It is a good idea to try and make the things that you look nice and stylish because that will make them more valuable to people. Just be sure to have the basic info on them that you will want for people to have. You will be amazed by how well these simple items will work for your business.
